HISTORY The Blue Cafe originally opened in Long Beach on July 3, 1992. When it first opened the venue was known for bringing in great blues and rock acts like Los Lobos, the Blasters, Taj Mahal, Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora, Sublime and the Fabulous Thunderbirds. With time comes change and in 2003 the Blue Cafe was sold to the current owners. Since this time the Blue Cafe has kept the same quality of performers while expanding the styles of music. Some of the artists that have recently performed at the BC are West Indian Girl, Anthony Gomes, James Intveld, Phat Cat Swinger, Tommy Castro, Delta Nove, Ugly Duckling, Royal Crown Revue, Poncho Sanchez, Rod Piazza, Big Sandy, Pepper and Barrington Levy to name a few. Today the Blue Cafe is provding the same quality music at two locations. The Blue Cafe is located on Pine Avenue below Mariposa Lounge and in Huntington Beach off of PCH and Warner. |
